FAQ
Q: Do you only serve young adults and college graduates?
A: No, we’re happy to work with anyone who wants to learn how to manage their finances. Our typical client profile tends to be young adults in their twenties, dreaming big dreams and wondering how to get there. Our services are also appropriate for recently separated individuals who are new to managing their financial household independently. While we specialize in these areas we are able to provide services to a wide variety of individuals. Please contact us if you have questions about how we can assist you.
Q: How is your service different than me reading a book on personal finance?
A: We will always encourage you to keep yourself informed. However, generally available resources lack the ability to ask you questions about your preferences, skills and talents which play a large role in your success. We are constantly updating our knowledge about the mechanics and nuances of personal finance management to find solutions and strategies that work for you.
Q: What’s wrong with getting financial guidance from my parents?
A: Your parents may be a really great resource for financial guidance, particularly if they work in the financial services field or have successfully navigated their own finances. Unfortunately, we’re not all so lucky to have parents who have up-to-date knowledge or the ability to refrain from prolonged lectures about fiscal responsibility. Sometimes, you just need a fresh perspective. We’re here to help, not to judge.
Q: Will you select and purchase investments on my behalf?
A: No. We will help you understand different types of investment vehicles, their costs and how to purchase them. We’ll even walk you through the process of selecting and opening a brokerage account. However, our role is to make sure you have the information you need to make the right financial decision for yourself.
Q: Do you receive any compensation from financial companies?
A: No. Other than selling you on the idea that you can take control of your finances and achieve your dreams, we don’t sell or benefit from the purchase of any financial product.
Q: If you know this stuff, why aren’t you off making millions for yourself?
A: Believe us, we’re working on it. However, we are not a get rich quick scheme. We believe in providing people the guidance needed to build wealth over the long term. Our mission is to assist you in making the best decisions for your situation that will put you on the path to meeting your financial goals. The truth of the matter is that even if we hit the jackpot tomorrow, we’d still be interested in learning about personal finance management and supporting others in their success.
Q: What if I’m in a deep financial mess already?
A: Our model is primarily focused on propelling individuals and couples, who aren’t too deep in a hole, towards their goals. Send us an e-mail or give us a call and we’ll let you know if we can help. If we can’t help you, we’ll try to refer you to someone who can.
Q: Why only discounts for non-profit workers?
A: Non-profit workers provide beneficial services to our communities that are generally financially undervalued. We want to help them keep and increase their assets where possible, so they can continue to serve our communities without sacrificing their financial dreams.
Q: Can I purchase sessions as a graduation or engagement gift?
A: Certainly! Our seminars and consultations make great gifts for any occasion. Please contact us for information on purchasing gift certificates.
